Saharawi government welcomes statements of Libyan TNC’s president

Bir Lehlou (liberated territories) Sept 2, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi government and Polisario Front has welcomed the statements issued on Aug 29, 2011 by Mustafa Abdeljalil, president of the Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC), which categorically denied the allegations published by the Moroccan Press Service (MAP) claiming the presence of Saharawi fighters in Libya along with Gaddafi, said the Ministry of Information.

The statement said that Mustafa Abdeljalil’s speech reflects a “high degree of responsibility and wisdom which would consolidate the bonds of brotherhood and friendship existing between the two brotherly peoples. It also reflects a sincere keenness to the supreme interest of the two people and peoples of the region as a whole.”

The statement said that these attempts aim “to sow poisons, disputes and dissensions in the interest of goals, which are contrary to the rights of peoples and their will of freedom, dignity, democracy and peace.”

The Sahrawi government and the Polisario Front had previously denounced, in a statement, claims reported by the Moroccan official press service on Aug 25, 2011 about “the arrest of 556 mercenaries from the Polisario Front have been brought in to support Gaddafi troops,” calling for an urgent independent inquiry into these serious allegations.
